ABOUT ME

My name is Marcel Bissonnette. I have been involved with music for about 40 years. I started taking piano lessons at the tender age of 10. I studied under the care of Barbara Dalia Jasmine for a couple of years and then under the esteemed George Hart. After finishing high school, I played keyboards in various bands and eventually started a local sound reinforcement business in the fall of 1986. I worked this business, eventually working into it full-time, for 15 years. During that time span I provided sound and lights for countless local bands, regional acts, tribute bands and a few national acts.

While I was doing the sound and lights thing, I began to provide DJ and Karaoke services to local nightclubs as well as spinning at many private engagements including weddings, corporate events and private parties.

I also kept up my playing chops and continued playing in bands as well as working up my private home studio. In 2002 I finally put together a working situation for recording at home using personal computers, my keyboard collection and various software packages which includes virtual instruments. My first project was Joy to the Word 2002 which is a collection of Christmas songs performed instrumentally. This was originally planned to only be used as a present for friends and family. After many suggestions to do so, I am now releasing this collection to the world. My next project was Music For Masonic Ceremonies. This is a collection of instrumental music geared towards fraternal organizations and their lack of organists or musicians to provide music for their degree work and other meetings.

I plan to continue to release more music CD's. Presently I am working on creating Music For Masonic Ceremonies Vol.2 as well as another Christmas CD. I have also taken up the guitar again (I had dabbled in guitar in the past) with the hopes of incorporating guitar work in upcoming releases.
